Artist 's Statement

The Walla Walla Valley Quilt Guild challenged each of its members to make a traditional American Beauty Quilt.  I think my version, titled American Beauty, which in no way resembles the famous traditional versions, is the quintessential 21^st century American Beauty Quilt  -- so far, anyway ….

Materials: textiles, specialty threads (metallic, haloshimmer, variegated, cotton, rayon, invisible,
poly).

Techniques: machine piecing, lettering, and original embroidery; and long-arm free-form quilting.
