Artist’s Statement 

I went through the 1950s and ‘60s with Elvis Presley; he was my first love. The art quilt Heartbreak Hotel recounts icons associated with that era of this mesmerizing rock hero’s legendary life.

Quilt history: Selected for inclusion in SAQA “A Sense of Time” exhibition, displayed at Houston International Quilt Festival and Chicago International Art Festival, 2008, and Long Beach International Quilt Festival, 2009. Included in full color catalog, A Sense of Time, with Statement by Namita Gupta Wiggens, Curator, Portland Museum of Craft, Portland, OR, Juror of the exhibition.
