Artist's Statement

I made this quilt for the Dig-it-al Quilts exhibition in San Antonio, TX. It was the first all-Texas Studio Art Quilts Associates juried exhibition, and Light as a Feather actually made it in.

I love this quilt because I made it right after we got back from Santa Fe, NM. On myriad metaphorical levels, it depicts the imagery, colors, light, topography, people, and spirit world that I so loved there.

Quilt history: shown at U.S.A. Photoseptembre, Dig-it-al Quilts exhibition, Fiber Artspace, San Antonio, TX, 2008. Laurie Brainerd, juror.
