 Salli McQuaid: #104: Oh-Oh-Oh,
10"w x 14"h, 2011 $100

Artist 's Statement

The objective was: three circles, two lines, and one line dissecting the composition. I embroidered the three "O"s, made the two lines dimensional and folded, and made a seam dissecting the composition, which was highlighted by miniature metallic braid and machine embroidery in holoshimmer thread.

Materials: textiles, specialty threads (metallic, haloshimmer, varigated, cotton, rayon, invisible, poly), ⅛" metallic braid.

Techniques: machine piecing, couching, embroidery, and quilting.

Quilt history: First Place, "First Circles," Fine Art America website, November 6, 2011.
