The
surrealistic Out-takes (detail: left) was inspired by the

Presley’s acting career, although
he was a gifted natural actor.
Out-takes was designed by making several to-scale drawings. Many
difficult techniques, including piecing, applique, machine embroidery
(manipulated and resident), trapunto, pantographing, and machine quilting were
used. Materials included crystals and fabric paint, as well as textiles (some
Hawaiian) and specialty threads, such as holograph, metallic, invisible, and
variegated varieties. |
