Dear Salli,
I have been given one of your quilts, the Haiku Dragon, for a Christmas gift from Vou Best [Studio Art Quilts Associates Texas State Representative]. This piece of art work is stunning and it's absolutely astonishing! I cherish it greatly, and I am so glad I have the opportunity to own such a masterpiece. Thank you very much.

As Curator of the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) "A Sense of Time" exhibition, I felt fortunate to have Salli McQuaid's work included. Her piece, Heartbreak Hotel was an exceptional example of a contemporary and innovative use of commercial fabrics in the art quilt medium. She has a unique sense of artistic style, coupled with technical ability, that makes her work a "standout" in this international exhibition. At a time when many artists are using hand-dyed and heavily surface-manipulated fabrics, Salli's work is created by manipulating commercial fabrics through innovative quilt piecing techniques. This end result is a completely unique abstract interpretation of a moment in time."
