 Artist’s Statement

Venetta’s Tulip was part of my Kreinik Mfg. Co. thread demonstration at the Houston International Quilt Festival Market. I was inspired by the beautiful batik cloth containing tulips to make a tulip for my friend and fellow quilt artist, Venetta Morger, who loves tulips. Thread painting, piecing, and trims helped this imaginary vision evolve.
