Artist 's Statement

This is a small, one-foot square art quilt that was spontaneously pieced and stitched. The owl in this landscape composition is Tweety's mentor, who encourages him to get in plenty of "hoot" time. After piecing and couching, the quilt  was initially quilted by machine, using some decorative stitches where appropriate. The quilting was then completed on a long arm. It completes The Tweety Trilogy.

Materials: textiles, specialty threads (metallic, haloshimmer, variegated, cotton, rayon, invisible, poly), ⅛" metallic braid.

Techniques: machine piecing, decorative stitching, couching. Machine and long-arm free-form quilting.
