Artist’s Statement
Tweety's Balloons
started out as a test of Kreinik Mfg. Co. threads, as I was doing a
demonstration for the company at the Houston International Quilt
Festival Market. Their threads, and particularly their iron-on trims,
worked out great for this design. I don’t often do quilts for children,
but I think this bright and colorful quilt is fun, appropriate, and was
a joy to make. Tweety is certainly having fun with his balloons. It
became quilt #1 of The Tweety
Trilogy. and, come to think of it, is adult friendly.
