“Surf Dragon” is a whimsical
look at that obsessed species of humanity we call “surfers,” who
populate our West Coast beaches in great numbers, seemingly from dawn
until dusk. All along our spectacular Pacific Ocean surfers lurk like
water dragons, ever ready to saddle that next perfect wave with their
boards. The quilt includes a mini-quilt made up of over 100 tiny pieces,
which is behind the large wave.

Textiles and specialty threads (metallic, haloshimmer, variegated,
cotton, rayon, invisible, polyester).
Techniques:
Machine piecing, applique, free-form machine and long-arm quilting,
Layering, sashiko, machine lettering.
